Spanish Regulator Withdraws Four Cosmetic Brands for Safety, Labeling Breaches

Retailers must remove all lots of the four brands from sale under orders from Spain’s medicines regulator

Overview

  • On June 16, the Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios ordered an immediate halt to manufacturing and marketing and the withdrawal of all cosmetic lots from Pirinherbsan, Fontdeblanc, Mythological and ExtrAroma.
  • Inspections by the Subdirección General de Ordenación y Calidad Sanitarias y Farmacéuticas found Global Comarcos, S.L.’s Barcelona facilities did not meet good manufacturing practices under Real Decreto 85/2018 and operated without the required declaration.
  • Regulators also identified multiple labeling violations that rendered the products non-compliant with EU cosmetics regulation.
  • Retailers have been instructed to remove the affected products immediately and to coordinate their return with the responsible company.
  • Consumers are advised to avoid using these cosmetics and to report any related incidents through the official NotificaCS platform.
