Spanish Parents Accused of Selling 14-Year-Old Daughter for Forced Marriage

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sold by her parents in Spain in 2021 to a 22-year-old man for €5,000 in a forced marriage arrangement.
The young woman, now 17, reported the abuse to police in Cádiz earlier this month, detailing years of physical, sexual, and psychological mistreatment.
She claims she was forced to live in a van with her husband and was made to collect scrap metal for money during the marriage.
The parents and the husband were arrested and charged with human trafficking, sexual violence, and child abuse; the father remains in custody while the others are released under restrictions.
The girl also disclosed prior sexual abuse at the age of 12, allegedly facilitated by her father, further compounding the severity of the case.
