Spanish Footballer Hugo Mallo Convicted of Sexual Abuse

Mallo found guilty of groping a female mascot during a 2019 La Liga match and ordered to pay fines and compensation.

Hugo Mallo, former captain of Celta Vigo, was convicted of sexually abusing a woman in a mascot costume in April 2019.
The incident occurred before a La Liga match against Espanyol, where Mallo inappropriately touched the woman's breasts.
Mallo has been ordered to pay €6,000 in fines and €1,000 in damages, along with covering all legal costs.
The victim, referred to as Ana, fought for justice for over five years, leading to the conviction.
Mallo, who now plays for Aris in Greece, maintains his innocence and plans to appeal the verdict.
