Spanish Coastal Councils Impose Beach Restrictions and Bolster Security for San Juan

Measures target environmental protection by banning beach installations, restricting bonfires, reinforcing security, offering family programming.

Overview

  • Almuñécar’s municipal order allows beach shelters only from 10:00 on June 23 until 22:00 on June 24 and prohibits portable discos, generators, commercial stalls and unauthorized alcohol sales after 22:00.
  • Valladolid’s festivities run from 19:50 on June 23 to 3:00 on June 24 at Playa de Las Moreras with two DJ stages, children’s games and a midnight bonfire backed by an on-site victim support office.
  • Perelló has banned beach bonfires and night swims under intoxication, closed playgrounds from 21:00 to 8:00 and requires visitors to vacate beaches by 3:30 on June 24 for cleanup operations.
  • National Police and municipal officers will patrol key sites under a special security device designed to deter vandalism and provide immediate assistance to attendees.
  • All councils appeal to revellers for responsible conduct and post-celebration beach cleaning to preserve the environment and uphold San Juan traditions.
