• The Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) has officially introduced Spain B, a second national basketball team designed to ease the transition from youth development to the senior roster.
• Jaume Ponsarnau, current coach of Surne Bilbao Basket, has been appointed head coach of Spain B, working under the supervision of senior team coach Sergio Scariolo.
• Spain B will train alongside the senior team in Madrid and Málaga, with both squads sharing facilities and collaborating closely on technical preparation.
• The Spain B team will play two high-level friendly matches this summer, while the senior team will participate in a triangular tournament in Málaga against Portugal and the Czech Republic from August 5–7.
• This initiative builds on Spain’s past U22 program, aiming to establish a permanent pathway for emerging players into the senior national team.
