Overview

  • A boat carrying a single crewmember went down on the morning of June 27 between Ínsua Island and the coast of A Guarda at the mouth of the Miño River
  • Comandancia Naval del Miño is leading the operation with support from Salvamento Marítimo, Guardia Civil, Servizo de Gardacostas de Galicia, GES de A Guarda and local police
  • Spanish and Portuguese naval units, including Comandancia Naval Portuguesa and the Armada Española, have deployed vessels to aid the search
  • Sea units arrived first, with the Pesca I rescue helicopter and the GES de A Guarda aquatic group joining the search soon after
  • Rescuers report no sighting of the missing crewmember on the river surface as the search continues
