Spain’s Used-Car Sales Rise 4.2% in 2025 to 2.21 Million

Industry groups urge scrappage incentives alongside a national renewal plan to replace older, higher-emission cars.

  • Electrified models grew rapidly from a small base: used BEVs rose 53.3% to a 1.3% share and PHEVs rose 43.7% to 2%, while diesel led with 49% and gasoline held 36%.
  • Imports jumped 20.8% to 6% of the market, lifting sales of 5–10-year cars by 13.7%, company sales increased 6.2%, and Murcia ended the year at 82,172 units (+3.7%) with December down 3.2%.
