Spain's Luis de la Fuente Extends Coaching Contract Through 2028

The Spanish Football Federation confirmed De la Fuente will lead the national team through the 2026 World Cup and Euro 2028 after recent triumphs in the Nations League and Euro 2024.

Luis de la Fuente, 63, has signed a contract extension with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to remain as head coach until after the 2028 European Championship.
De la Fuente guided Spain to victory in the 2024 European Championship, their fourth title, with a perfect record and a 2-1 win over England in the final.
He also led Spain to the Nations League title in 2023, showcasing a strong start since taking over as senior coach in 2022.
Previously, De la Fuente coached Spain's youth teams, winning European titles with the under-19 and under-21 squads and securing an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo 2021.
Spain's next major competitions include the Nations League quarterfinals in March 2025 and the 2026 World Cup in North America.
