• INE counted 1,375 assistance centers in 2024, up 17% from 2022, with 1,119 offering lodging and 514 providing meal services.
• Shelter capacity reached a daily average of 39,501 beds, 48% higher than two years earlier, as centers expanded information, intake, and social support offerings.
• Facilities serving only migrants grew in prominence, with 26.1% of centers focused exclusively on immigrants and an average 20,911 beds available for them, 17,786 of which were occupied (+121% versus 2022).
• Centers served an average of 70,343 meals per day in 2024—breakfasts, lunches, and dinners combined—marking a 36.9% increase compared with 2022.
• “Housing First” units increased to an average of 1,086 dwellings, up 63% in two years, while 26,079 people worked in the sector, about half salaried and nearly half volunteers.
