Overview

  • The first Operación Salida phase has mobilised an estimated 4.7 million long-distance trips nationwide from July 4 to July 6.
  • Congestion hotspots have emerged on Valencia’s A-7 corridor and Murcia’s A-30 link, though no major accidents beyond expected delays have been reported.
  • Traffic centres in Málaga and Sevilla are providing 24-hour service backed by aerial helicopters and drones, Guardia Civil patrols, radars, over 2,000 cameras and information panels.
  • The DGT’s safety campaign enforces zero alcohol and drugs, recommends trip planning and rest breaks, and deploys reversible lanes and alternative routes to minimize risks.
  • Four additional summer operations are slated for July 24-27, August 1-3, August 14-17 and July 29-31 alongside the separate Estrecho crossing plan preparing for a 5% traffic increase.
