Overview

• Factories built 1,478,582 vehicles from January to August 2025, a 7% year-on-year decline, according to Anfac.
• Exports reached 1,271,461 units in the period, down 10.1%, with Europe taking 91% of July shipments and 90.2% in August and Germany remaining the top destination.
• Anfac cites softer demand in core European markets and plant retooling for electrified models as the main drags on output.
• Production swung over the summer, rising 2.2% in July to 187,643 vehicles before falling 4.2% in August to 70,344.
• Electrified models (BEV and PHEV) grew 4.1% to 145,096 units, representing 9.8% of output, as passenger cars fell 2.7% in July then rose 14.3% in August and commercial and industrial vehicles rose 21.2% in July then dropped 61.1% in August to 6,994 units.
