Spain’s August Hotel Stays Edge Higher as Madrid Extends Gains and Gipuzkoa Leads on Price

Foreign visitors provided the lift in August, sustaining revenue growth through higher room rates.

  • Eustat reported modest growth across Euskadi in August with entries up 1.5% and overnight stays up 1.2%, while in Gipuzkoa foreigners accounted for 60.2% of hotel entries and international spending has doubled in two years to €96.4 million, led by high daily outlays from Japanese visitors.
