Overview
- Spain’s top defense chief announced the 2026 plan in Vigo on Tuesday, revealing the official motto “Todos unidos defendemos España.”
- The celebration runs May 26–31 in Vigo, with the main ceremony on May 30 along avenida de Samil presided by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
- The program features a large ground and air display, including a 1,165‑meter parade with about 100 vehicles and 32 motorcycles and an aerial pass of 46 planes and 25 helicopters.
- King Felipe VI will also review naval units in the Ría de Vigo on May 29, and the city will host static equipment exhibits and unit demonstrations throughout the week.
- Beyond Vigo, the Defence Ministry plans events across Spain and in areas where Spanish troops are deployed to honor service at home and on UN, NATO and EU missions.
