Overview

  • Two alleged hitmen from Gothenburg were intercepted on the Málaga seafront about 48 hours after arrival, riding an electric scooter and concealing their faces.
  • Searches in Fuengirola and Marbella recovered loaded firearms, magazines, balaclavas, gloves, 15 mobile phones, 16 SIM cards and computer material.
  • A later phase led to four more arrests, including the suspected ringleader, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, illegal weapons possession and membership in a criminal organization.
  • The initially detained adult was remanded to pretrial custody, and the minor was placed in a closed juvenile center by order of the minors prosecutor.
  • Police link the group to a Sweden-based network and report ties to cocaine and marijuana trafficking, with the operation coordinated with Europol and Sweden’s serious organized crime unit.
