Spain Sets Oct. 6 and 8 Start for 2025–26 Imserso Trips, With €50 Low-Income Seats and Pet Travel

Officials cast the 40-year program as a social policy promoting active ageing.

  • Imserso is mailing 2.8 million accreditation letters in September to inform eligible pensioners of their booking start date.
  • Sales open on Oct. 6 for Asturias, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad Valenciana, Ceuta, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, La Rioja, Navarre and the Basque Country, then on Oct. 8 for the remaining regions.
  • The 2025–26 season offers 879,213 places, split into 440,284 for the peninsular coast, 228,142 for island destinations and 210,787 for short-break itineraries.
  • A total of 7,447 places are reserved at a flat €50 for pensioners with the lowest incomes, with Imserso covering the rest of the trip cost.
  • For the first time, participants may travel with pets on designated peninsular and island coastal routes, a change presented as supportive of wellbeing.
