Spain Picks Airbus to Lead Combat Training Overhaul With 30 Hürjet Jets

• Airbus will act as national coordinator in partnership with Turkish Aerospace, which manufactures the Hürjet trainer.
• The programme will establish an Aircraft Conversion Centre in Spain, with the first two aircraft upgraded at Airbus Getafe and the remaining 28 at the new facility.

• The package replaces the Spanish Air and Space Force’s ageing F-5 fleet and includes integrated operation and maintenance services at Talavera la Real.
• Turkish officials value the 30-aircraft Hürjet purchase at about $3 billion (€2.6 billion), with deliveries planned to begin in 2028.
