Overview

  • Spain called up 25 players for the Women’s Euro 2025 before trimming the roster to a final 23, with Hermoso left out of the squad.
  • Tomé explained that evaluations of Hermoso’s season at Tigres and conversations with her coach showed other midfielders offered greater options.
  • Hermoso was the target of a non-consensual kiss by former federation president Luis Rubiales, who was later fined and barred from contacting her.
  • The squad is led by Ballon d’Or winners Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmatí, and includes ten players from Barcelona’s roster.
  • Spain will host Japan in a friendly on June 27 and open its Euros campaign against Portugal on July 3 in Bern, followed by matches with Belgium and Italy.
