Spain Logs 105,509 Active Gender‑Violence Cases; Andalucía Leads With Over 27,000

Authorities report most cases at low risk with more than 16,000 requiring heightened protection.

  • Interior’s VioGén system counts 105,509 active cases as of August 31, including 19 extreme risk, 1,157 high, 14,818 medium and 89,515 low.
  • Andalucía has the largest caseload with 27,215 active cases, ahead of Valencia (17,987) and Madrid (13,009), with Galicia at 6,231.
  • Regional data also show Andalucía sustained seven intimate‑partner femicides in 2025, within 25 nationwide so far this year.
  • Municipal participation in VioGén continues to expand, with 281 of Andalucía’s 785 municipalities signed on as of September 2, about a third of all adherents in Spain.
  • Service use in Andalucía in July included 1,406 calls to 016 (14.11% of the national total), 3,776 Atenpro attentions (18.72%) and 1,635 active geolocation bracelets.
