Overview

• Nine suspects were arrested in simultaneous raids across Lithuania, Ireland and Spain, including the alleged ringleader’s son in Orihuela.
• Authorities seized more than €2 million in cash, seven firearms, 103 kg of marijuana, encrypted phones, GPS detectors and documents.
• The network is linked to Europe’s largest cocaine seizure in 2021, when 16 tonnes were intercepted at the Port of Hamburg.
• The criminal group imported cocaine from South America, hashish from Morocco and marijuana from Spain for distribution across Europe.
• The probe began with decrypted communications by Lithuanian authorities in 2021, was judicialised by Spain’s Juzgado Central de Instrucción nº5 and executed through a two-year joint investigation.
