  • Spanish workers who meet 38 years and 3 months of contributions in 2025 can opt to retire at 63 provided their pension calculation exceeds the legal minimum, though its benefit will be permanently reduced.
  • Full pension entitlement in Spain now requires at least 36 years and 6 months of contributions, with pension amounts starting at 50% of the full rate and rising by 2.52% for each additional year up to 100%.
  • In Mexico, IMSS Law 73 beneficiaries need 500 weeks of cotization and must be age 60 for cesantía or 65 for vejez, while Ley 97 participants require 850 weeks for cesantía at 60 and 820 weeks for vejez at 65 in 2025.
  • IMSS pension holders will receive their August payment on August 1, ISSSTE pensioners on July 30, and Pensión del Bienestar recipients will get their next bimonthly deposit of 6,200 pesos in September.
  • Authorities in Sonora, Tamaulipas and U.S. agencies have detained a suspect accused of defrauding about 28 older adults by charging fees to manipulate their IMSS Modalidad 40 contributions.
