Beginning this weekend the Verano-2025 campaign activates a five-phase network of personnel, technology, aerial patrols, radars, cameras to manage more than 100 million long-distance journeys

Overview

  • First Operación Salida phase began Friday at 15:00 and runs until midnight Sunday, with an estimated 4.7 million long-distance trips nationwide.
  • Andalusia alone expects 22.2 million long-distance trips by August 31, a 2.5% increase over last summer’s forecast.
  • The DGT has mobilized Guardia Civil officers, traffic-management center staff, fixed and mobile radars, helicopters, drones, cameras and camouflaged vans across national highways.
  • The campaign enforces zero tolerance for alcohol, drugs, mobile use and speeding while stressing protective measures for motorcyclists after last summer’s record 76 rider fatalities.
  • An interactive real-time map is active to highlight traffic hotspots, roadworks, weather alerts and enforcement zones for drivers.
