Spain Hotels Edge Up in August as Prices Climb, With Catalunya Cooling and Argentina Nights Falling

Foreign demand drives the increase, with Madrid up 3.8%, Castilla-La Mancha 8%, Gipuzkoa marking the highest prices.

  • Catalunya showed a summer slowdown as hotel nights fell 0.36% from June to August and dipped 1% in August, with shorter stays and softer pricing in Barcelona.
  • Gipuzkoa saw sharp price levels in August at €194 per night province-wide and €238 in Donostia, with foreign guests accounting for 60.2% of hotel entries.
