Spain Finalizes Security, Routes and Access Plans for Jan. 5 Three Kings Parades

Municipal updates confirm large deployments with new inclusion measures across major and coastal cities.

Overview

  • Madrid’s main parade starts at 18:00 in Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz and ends in Cibeles with around 2,100 participants, 1.2 tonnes of sweets, extensive traffic restrictions, accessibility services and live broadcasts on RTVE and Telemadrid.
  • A Coruña will deploy more than 200 professionals with 76 police and auxiliary points, enforce parking and traffic measures, begin at 17:30, offer ENKI-backed noise-reduction helmet loans and distribute 7.5 tonnes of gluten-free candies.
  • Valencia will receive the Kings by sea with a 16:30 port reception at Plaza de la Sal, field about 1,300 participants, throw 4,000 kg of gluten-free sweets plus gifts, provide 2,500 seats at €4 and monitor rain forecasts.
  • Málaga has reserved seating with tiered prices and purchase limits, plans to hand out 5,000 kg of gummies and 5,500 kg of candies and will launch the 18:00 procession before a cathedral offering.
  • Coastal and regional events are confirmed, including sea arrivals in Barcelona and Tarragona, boat and harbor ceremonies in Bueu and Moaña, Almería’s revised route with eight safety points and 13 tonnes of soft sweets and Jaén’s five‑kilometer procession with 6,900 kilos of candies.
