- Effective July 1, 2025, the bono social eléctrico discount falls to 42.5% for vulnerable consumers and 57.5% for those deemed severely vulnerable through December 31.
- The adjustment follows a schedule launched after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that reduced subsidy rates from 65%/80% in early 2022 to 50%/65% between January and June 2025.
- Support levels will stabilize at 35% for vulnerable households and 50% for severely vulnerable recipients beginning January 1, 2026.
- Eligibility hinges on income up to 1.5 times the IPREM, family composition, disability status, pension minima or receipt of the Minimum Living Income, with consumption limits and rollover provisions.
- Protections against electricity disconnections remain guaranteed for beneficiaries in social exclusion risk and families with minors or dependent members until year-end.
