- The DGT launched a national speed enforcement campaign on August 4 that runs through August 10 and uses mobile, fixed and aerial radars operated by the Guardia Civil, Mossos d’Esquadra and local police.
- Thirty-two of the 122 new speed control points planned for 2025 began operation in early August, comprising seven fixed radars and 25 section radars across regions including Extremadura, Castilla y León, Madrid and Galicia.
- The Saltacaballo section radar on the A-8 in Cantabria entered a warning-only phase ahead of full enforcement and fines starting September 1 under a revised 100 km/h speed limit.
- July’s safety report recorded 112 fatalities—two more than a year earlier—with rising car occupant deaths and falling vulnerable user fatalities driving DGT’s intensified speed controls.
