- The reform was ratified by the Consejo de Ministros on June 10 and takes effect on July 1, 2025.
- New signs will be installed progressively alongside routine maintenance, and obsolete or altered signals must be removed within one year.
- The updated catalogue adds pictograms for high-occupancy vehicle lanes, elderly-frequented zones, personal mobility vehicles and environmental access controls.
- There will be a minimum three-month delay before the new signs appear in theoretical driving exams to allow time for manual revisions.
- Unauthorized use of high-occupancy lanes under the S-51b sign will incur a €200 fine.
