Spain Approves 2025 Public Employment Plan With 27,700 Free-Access Positions

Officials say the recruitment drive marks the fifth consecutive record for free-access posts under Pedro Sánchez’s administration.

Overview

  • The Council of Ministers has allocated 26,886 posts to the General State Administration.
  • Security forces will receive 3,139 positions for the National Police, 3,713 for the Civil Guard and 2,847 for the armed forces.
  • Of the 26,886 civil service slots, 20,314 are open to external applicants and 6,565 reserved for internal promotion.
  • The total of 36,588 positions is nearly 9% below last year’s over 40,000 but represents the fifth consecutive record for free-access hiring.
