Spain Adds 142,000 Affiliates as Unemployment Climbs, Report Finds 205,000 Formal Jobs Lost in Argentina

  • Spain’s Social Security affiliation rose by 141,926 in October to 21,839,592, the second-strongest October since 2021.
  • Registered unemployment increased by 22,101 to 2,443,766, with rises across all 17 autonomous communities and the largest monthly jump in Castilla y León (+2,545).
  • Education added about 167,000 affiliates and hospitality shed roughly 50,000, while Catalonia reached a record ~3.88 million affiliates despite a small rise in joblessness.
