SpaceX Targets Starlink 6-98 Launch From Cape Canaveral Today as Weather Remains Uncertain

Forecasters see only a 40% chance of favorable conditions for the afternoon attempt.

Overview

  • Liftoff is set for 1:08 p.m. EST from SLC-40 to carry 29 Starlink V2 Mini satellites, with a published window from 1:01–5:01 p.m.
  • First stage B1085 will fly for the 13th time and aim to land on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas about 8.5 minutes after launch.
  • A successful recovery would mark the 139th landing on that vessel and the 559th booster landing for SpaceX to date.
  • This would be the fourth Space Coast launch of 2026, continuing a run of 29-satellite Starlink missions as SpaceX builds out its constellation.
  • Crew-12 is currently targeting a Feb. 15 launch from SLC-40, and NASA and SpaceX are discussing a possible earlier date following Crew-11’s early return for a medical issue.
