SpaceX Targets 100th Falcon 9 Flight as It Launches Starlink and Kuiper Satellites

Overview

  • On August 8 at 8:43 p.m. PDT a Falcon 9 from Vandenberg will carry 24 optimized Starlink V2 Mini satellites into a polar low-Earth orbit.
  • First-stage booster B1093 will attempt its fifth landing on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” about 8.5 minutes after liftoff.
  • The KF-02 mission on August 9 from Cape Canaveral will deploy 24 Project Kuiper satellites and mark SpaceX’s 100th Falcon 9 launch of 2025.
  • SpaceX has activated Starlink service in Somalia and Israel, with other Middle East markets listed as pending regulatory approval.
  • Project Kuiper aims to field over 3,200 satellites by July 2026 to compete with Starlink’s existing constellation of more than 8,100 satellites.
