SpaceX Launches 28 Starlinks From Florida After Vandenberg Flight, Extending 2025 Cadence

The company is scaling Starlink through rapid booster reuse supported by a manufacturing rate of about 70 satellites a week.

Overview

  • SpaceX lifted off from Cape Canaveral on Sunday at 7:49 a.m. EDT with 28 Starlink V2 Mini satellites, using a Falcon 9 whose first stage was on its 23rd flight and targeting a landing on the droneship Just Read the Instructions.
  • Late Friday from Vandenberg, a Falcon 9 launched 24 Starlink satellites into polar orbit, with booster B1082 flying for the 15th time and landing on Of Course I Still Love You before satellite deployment about an hour after liftoff.
  • The California mission was the fourth Starlink launch from Vandenberg in August after three schedule slips from Aug. 20, Aug. 22 and the following Sunday.
  • There are more than 8,200 Starlink satellites in orbit, according to orbital tracker Jonathan McDowell.
  • SpaceX announced Starlink has reached roughly 7 million customers across about 150 markets as it sustains a rapid 2025 launch tempo toward an internal target of around 170 Falcon 9 missions.
