SpaceX Launches 28 Starlink Satellites as ULA Readies Atlas V for Amazon’s Kuiper

Overview

  • Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 4:39 a.m. EDT on the Starlink 10-15 mission carrying 28 V2 Mini satellites.
  • Reused first stage B1080 completed its 22nd flight and landed on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas.
  • ULA’s Atlas V Kuiper 3 is scheduled to launch at 8:09 a.m. EDT to deploy 27 Amazon satellites to low Earth orbit.
  • The Atlas V is flying with five solid rocket boosters and a medium-length payload fairing from Space Launch Complex 41.
  • After today’s deployments, Kuiper’s constellation would reach 129 satellites, while Starlink’s operational fleet exceeds 8,400.
