Falcon 9 lifts 26 Starlink satellites, pushing total launches to 72 in 2025

Overview

  • On June 12, a Falcon 9 lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base carrying 23 Starlink V2 Mini satellites, with first stage booster B1081 on its 15th mission targeting recovery on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship.
  • On June 13, SpaceX flew 23 more V2 Mini satellites from Cape Canaveral’s SLC-40 using booster B1078 on its 21st flight, backed by an 85 percent chance of favorable launch weather and a planned landing on A Shortfall of Gravitas.
  • Thirteen of the Florida-launched satellites feature direct-to-cell functionality, bringing SpaceX’s total DTC Starlink count to 661 in orbit.
  • Both missions showcased rapid launch cadence and cost efficiency through the reuse of Falcon 9 first stages on double-digit flights.
  • The back-to-back operations advance SpaceX’s goal of bolstering its Starlink network for broader high-speed internet and cellular connectivity.
