Space42 Adds Three SAR Satellites, Bringing Foresight Constellation to Five

Bandwagon-4 liftoff marks progress toward a 2027 objective for a sovereign, high‑resolution radar imaging network.

Overview

  • The satellites flew on a SpaceX Bandwagon-4 rideshare arranged by Exolaunch in collaboration with ICEYE.
  • Space42 reports communications have been established with all three spacecraft and early routine operations are underway.
  • The spacecraft were produced in Finland and, for the first time, tested and integrated at Space42’s Abu Dhabi assembly, integration and testing facility.
  • Space42 says the system provides 25-centimeter SAR imagery feeding its GIQ AI platform for daily revisit and faster intelligence delivery, which are company-stated performance claims.
  • The company positions the expansion as strengthening the UAE’s sovereign Earth observation capability and advancing toward full constellation maturity in 2027, noting the UAE counts among roughly 20 SAR-operating nations.
