Overview
- The airline will replace A-List and A-List Preferred with Silver, Gold and a new Platinum tier that take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
- Silver requires 35,000 Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs) or 25 flights, Gold requires 65,000 TQPs or 50 flights, and Platinum requires 140,000 TQPs or 100 flights.
- Earnings bonuses will change by tier: Silver members earn a 40% flight bonus, Gold 60%, and Platinum 120%, with Platinum also offering unlimited Companion Pass trips.
- Southwest will grandfather current Companion Pass holders through their existing term but will make future passes available via TQPs, qualifying flights, milestone rewards or Platinum status and add intermediate milestone rewards for partial progress.
- The program ties status more tightly to spending through TQPs earned on the Southwest/Chase card, adds boarding-priority shifts and paid 'Icon' airport lounges, and marks a move away from the carrier's long-held free-perk model.
