Overview

  • Red alerts cover Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Malappuram in Kerala with orange warnings for six more districts as extremely heavy downpours are likely through June 17
  • Karnataka remains under a seven-day monsoon warning with widespread rain expected across coastal and interior districts until June 17, accompanied by gusty winds
  • Maharashtra’s Konkan coast, including Ratnagiri and Raigad, is on red alert while Mumbai, Pune and central districts face orange warnings amid forecasts of heavy rain and potential waterlogging through June 17
  • Delhi saw thunderstorms and gusty winds that broke a week-long heatwave and the IMD now forecasts the monsoon will arrive there between June 19 and 25, nearly ten days ahead of schedule
  • The monsoon is projected to advance into central and eastern India over the next three days, bringing light to heavy rainfall to Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and parts of Gujarat and Bihar
