Overview

  • Diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age 24 after a sports injury in 2016, Marie Fay underwent chemotherapy, surgeries and radiation but faced multiple relapses.
  • In December 2022 her lung metastasis was deemed inoperable and doctors halted further treatment after determining she was too weak to continue.
  • While camping at the Southside Festival in Neuhausen ob Eck in 2023, she met a fellow camper who introduced her to photodynamic laser therapy and hyperthermia.
  • Friends and family used crowdfunding to finance the costly therapies that German health insurance does not cover.
  • She plans to attend this year’s Southside Festival in gratitude for the chance encounter she credits with saving her life.
