• The Cook Out Southern 500 opens the Cup Playoffs on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. ET on USA Network, running 367 laps with stage breaks at laps 115 and 230.
• Thirty-eight Cup cars are entered at Darlington, including Derek Kraus in NY Racing’s No. 44 and Josh Bilicki in Garage 66’s No. 66.
• The Truck Series begins its Round of 10 at Darlington with 32 entries and no Cup drivers doing double duty, racing Saturday at noon ET on FS1.
• The Xfinity Series races at Portland on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on CW following afternoon practice and qualifying at the same venue.
• RFK Racing will run a Tribute to Veterans scheme on Brad Keselowski’s No. 6, while pre-race odds list Kyle Larson as the favorite with Denny Hamlin close behind.
