- Culture Ministry events began Thursday and run nationwide through October to extend Hangeul Day observances.
- Culture Minister Chae Hwi-young and members of the Korean Language Society laid flowers at the King Sejong statue in Gwanghwamun, followed by a ceremony honoring contributions to the language.

- Further highlights include the Cultural Industry Exhibition from Saturday to Tuesday showcasing about 70 government-supported products, the AI Film Festival Jeongeum 1446, and the Oct. 18 Hangeul Dictation Contest at Gyeongbokgung Palace with 150 participants including 30 standout foreign learners from Sejong Institutes.
