Overview

  • On June 23, 45 South Koreans, including one Korean American, traveled from Israel into Egypt on a government-chartered bus route.
  • The latest mission builds on last week’s operation that moved nearly 50 citizens and their Israeli relatives from Tel Aviv to Jordan.
  • Since Israel’s June 13 airstrikes on Iran, 56 South Koreans and their Iranian family members have been evacuated from Tehran.
  • As of last weekend approximately 460 South Koreans remained in Israel and about 70 were in Iran, according to the foreign ministry.
  • Seoul’s embassies in Israel and Egypt alongside Korean community associations have arranged transportation, border clearance and consular support for evacuees.
