South Delhi Triple Murder: Younger Son Arrested After Foiled Suicide Attempt at AIIMS Metro

  • Police identified the victims as Prem Singh, his wife Rajani, and their elder son Ritik, found slain at their Maidangarhi home after a neighbour’s PCR call.
  • Security staff and metro police stopped a 12:39 pm attempt to jump onto the tracks at AIIMS Metro, after which the 22-year-old suspect, Siddharth, was detained and handed to investigators.
  • DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said the accused briefly confessed during initial questioning and was booked for murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
  • Searches at the house recovered documents and medicines indicating roughly 12 years of psychiatric care for OCD and aggressive behaviour, which police say will be part of the inquiry.
  • Crime-scene and forensic teams have secured evidence, the bodies were sent for postmortem, CCTV and technical leads were used to trace the suspect, and a scooter linked to him was found near Mehrauli.
