South Carolina Woman Dies in 150-Foot Fall at North Carolina Waterfall Overlook

A 61-year-old woman from Greer, South Carolina fell 150 feet to her death at the Glassmine Falls Overlook in western North Carolina.
The incident occurred on September 23 at the popular scenic viewpoint along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The victim was identified as Nancy Sampson by the National Park Service.
First responders had to rappel down the cliff to reach Sampson's body below the overlook.
Sampson was there with her husband, who said his "heart is broken" over the tragic accident.
