South Carolina to Appoint TCU’s Jeremiah Donati as New Athletic Director

Donati, who led TCU’s athletic success and major facility upgrades, will succeed Ray Tanner starting in January.

Jeremiah Donati, TCU’s athletic director since 2017, is set to become South Carolina’s new athletic director, pending official approval from the university’s Board of Trustees on Thursday.
Donati’s tenure at TCU included overseeing $500 million in facility improvements and guiding the athletics department to eight national championships and 11 Big 12 titles.
Under his leadership, TCU achieved historic milestones, including becoming the first school in the College Football Playoff era to reach the CFP, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, and the College World Series in the same academic year (2022-23).
South Carolina’s outgoing athletic director, Ray Tanner, will transition to an advisory role after leading the department for over a decade.
Donati is expected to begin his role in January, taking over a thriving athletics program that includes a top-ranked women’s basketball team and strong showings in football and men’s basketball.
