South Carolina Stuns No. 6 Kentucky with 79-62 Victory

South Carolina stunned No. 6 Kentucky with a 79-62 victory in Southeastern Conference play, led by graduate guard Ta'Lon Cooper who matched his career high with 20 points.
The Gamecocks (16-3, 4-2 SEC) hit 48.3 percent from the field, handing the Wildcats their first double-figure loss since Feb. 7, 2023.
Rob Dillingham led Kentucky (14-4-2 SEC) with 16 points, but the Wildcats struggled with their shooting, hitting only 40.3 percent from the field.
This is South Carolina's first two-game winning streak in the series since they won three in a row over the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.
The Gamecocks managed to lead at the break after closing out the first half on a 10-2 spurt, despite struggling with ball handling and committing seven turnovers.
