Overview

  • The commission’s 667-page report sets out 136 recommendations following a year of hearings, listening sessions and hundreds of submissions, alongside a 111-page Voices companion of survivor accounts.
  • Premier Peter Malinauskas said the government has accepted seven recommendations, including a dedicated ministerial portfolio and a five-year statewide strategy with agency implementation plans.
  • Officials will develop options for a 24/7 central crisis and service phone hub to improve access and coordination for victim-survivors.
  • The government will pursue liquor licensing reforms, including tighter regulation of home alcohol delivery services.
  • A full response to the remaining recommendations is due by the end of 2025 after the commission concluded current arrangements are siloed and will require significant investment to fix.
