Overview

• SAU terminated Snehashish Bhattacharya’s services with effect from June 16, 2023, the date of his suspension, according to an official order citing the executive council and regulation 38.5.
• A Disciplinary Committee formed in November 2023 listed 52 charges and concluded that faculty emails he co‑signed amounted to incitement under Article V of the code of conduct.
• The university issued a show-cause notice on August 18, 2025, found his written reply unsatisfactory, and proceeded with termination.
• Two of four faculty suspended in 2023 were reinstated after apologies in March 2024, another contractual faculty member departed when his contract ended, and Bhattacharya did not apologize.
