Overview

  • Eva Victor makes her feature debut as writer, director and star, portraying Agnes, an English professor grappling with trauma’s lingering effects.
  • The narrative unfolds in five titled chapters that drift through key moments before and after the pivotal off-screen assault.
  • Quiet, lingering shots and moments of gallows humor evoke the half-life of trauma without depicting the assault itself.
  • Supporting turns by Naomi Ackie, Lucas Hedges, John Carroll Lynch, Kelly McCormack and Louis Cancelmi deepen the film’s exploration of healing and connection.
  • After winning Sundance’s Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award and securing an $8 million acquisition by A24, the film began its limited US run on June 27 and will expand nationwide on July 18.
