Overview
- Sony rolled out system software update 26.06-14.00.00 on September 16, 2026, and the update automatically enables Enhance PSSR Image Quality as the default on PS5 Pro consoles with an option to turn it off in settings.
- Sony states Enhanced PSSR can be applied to titles that used the older PSSR so the console can use the newer upscaler to produce a clearer image without per-game updates from developers.
- Only a small and evolving list of games currently support or are whitelisted for the upgraded PSSR, so the visual benefit will be uneven across a player’s library.
- The update also adds a Community Activity widget to the Welcome Hub with Trending Now and Top 10 views and a voice-chat speaker indicator that shows who is speaking and lets players set its on-screen position.
- In certain regions the update changes Bluetooth behavior so consoles won’t enter Rest Mode and HDMI Device Link will stop when Bluetooth is turned off for esports controller management, and Sony notes the patch includes general performance and stability fixes.
