Sony Rolls Out PS5 Update With Multi-Device DualSense Pairing and Power Saver Mode

The public firmware release follows beta testing and begins a staggered 1.3GB rollout to consoles worldwide.

Overview

  • System software version 25.06-12.00.00 began deploying on September 17, with availability varying by region and automatic installation possible in Rest Mode.
  • DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers can now register up to four Bluetooth devices and switch slots directly from the pad using PS plus a face-button combo.
  • A new optional Power Saver mode lets supported games scale back performance to reduce energy use, and it has no effect unless enabled and the title opts in.
  • Sony and partner studios list initial support for Power Saver in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei, with more titles to receive updates.
  • The update also delivers device software stability improvements for DualSense, DualSense Edge, PS VR2 Sense controllers, and the Access controller.
