  • Sony is returning to the luxury compact full-frame segment with the RX1R III, its first RX1R successor in ten years.
  • The camera launches in Europe in July 2025 at €4,900 with optional thumb grip and lens hood accessories available from September.
  • It integrates a 61 MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor and a fixed Zeiss Sonnar T* 35 mm F2 lens within a 498 g magnesium-alloy body.
  • A BIONZ XR processor powers AI-driven autofocus featuring 693 phase-detection points that track faces, eyes, bodies and heads across 78 percent of the frame.
  • Built-in step-crop modes simulate 35 mm, 50 mm and 70 mm focal lengths and offer twelve customizable creative looks while video recording is limited to 4K and the body lacks dedicated weather sealing.
